The Bedford Hills Free Library has endured since 1915 because people in our community know and understand that public libraries are important. It matters that there is a library right here on Main Street and it matters that our community supports it. 

Patrons, residents of Bedford, and library lovers are invited to show your support by giving to our Annual Fund Drive or at anytime during the year. While major funding is provided by the Town of Bedford, every year we must also raise over 25% of our operating budget from other sources to meet expenses.

Financial support from our community directly impacts the lives of the thousands of people in Bedford Hills who are served by the Library each year and lifts up the entire Town of Bedford. 

Together we will ensure that the Bedford Hills Free Library remains at the heart of our beloved hamlet, educating our children and encouraging lifelong learning for all.

Recurring Donations

Donors have the option to make a monthly recurring donation rather than a single gift. This is a great way to offer sustained support for essential, ongoing programs and services.

Honor and Memorial Giving

Supporters at any level may honor someone with a gift to the Library. Tribute gifts may be made for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. Gifts in memory of loved ones are also fitting tributes and the Library will provide acknowledgment to the honoree or family of the honoree.

Employee Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, contact your Human Resources Department. The impact of your gift may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a way for donors to make significant, long-term commitments to the Library which align with individual planning goals. There are several ways to plan a gift to the Library, including: a planned estate gift; bequests; naming the Library as a beneficiary on an insurance policy or retirement plan; and/or establishing a charitable trust benefiting the Library.

Fundraising Events

Our Spring Gala is a celebration of our community and presents a festive way to honor visionary leaders who advance the Library’s vision and goals.

The Library’s Trustee’s Circle recognizes individuals who have made a commitment of annual support to the Library at the level of $1,000 or more. Members enjoy unique benefits such as invitations to special events.

Business Sponsorship

Bedford Hills businesses are invited to sponsor programs and events that help you connect with customers and families in the area. The Library offers sponsorship opportunities for our Summer Reading Program, Early Literacy Initiative, StoryWalk installations, and special events.
