In a small but turbulent Louisiana town, one boy's grief takes him beyond the bayous of his backyard, to learn that there is no right way to be yourself.

King and the Dragonflies is a young adult novel that explores the intersection between race, gender roles and sexuality.

Published in 2020, it received the National Book Award for Young People's Literature, Boston Globe-Horn Book Award for Fiction and Poetry, and was a 2021 Coretta Scott King Honor Book!

In partnership with the Antioch Baptist Church, Bedford Hills.
