Abstract Painting For Everyone

Jason Piken

Saturday, March 16, from 10 to Noon
Bedford Hills Train Station

It doesn’t matter if you’re an art school graduate looking for a spark or if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush. Jason will get you to paint on canvas in minutes. You’ll love how abstract paintings can be an expression of your feelings in this fun environment. Your creativity will soar.  Materials provided.  If you already have painting materials you like working with, you’re welcome to bring them.

After a lifetime of longing to make art, something changed my life, a transformative catalyst to paint.  A sudden event changed my brain and the world into how I see it now, and a slow leak of blood into an area of my brain that creates flashes of color and images when I close my eyes.  These colors and images became the visual inspiration for my art.  As a self-taught painter, I know that anyone can enjoy creating with a little encouragement and an open mind.

Bedford Hills Train Station

Set free your creativity and playful self with this fun, easy-to-learn process. Once you start, you won’t want to stop. With Leslie’s gentle guidance using a few simple tools, you’ll create beautiful images, patterns, and textures with paint on paper. We’ll supply all the materials you need. Wear your painting clothes and leave your worries at the door. It’s time to play!

Leslie is fascinated with layers, texture and surfaces, creating layers with papers, paint and glazes. Leslie monoprints using a soft gel plate, which enables the user to make prints without a traditional printing press.
